How to Help an Active Child Use Their Energy Productively
Most children are naturally active and curious, and the best way to help them grow is to shape that energy and curiosity into something positive and productive. At
Stretch and Grow Salem that is exactly our goal, to guide children´s vitality and help them build the right skills and habits to stay healthy and strong throughout their life. Which is why today we want to share a few tips to help you encourage your child to use their energy in positive ways.
2 Tips to Focus a Child's Energy in Positive Activities
- Get your exercise while playing. Most children may not be able to keep up with you while you go out on your morning run but they will definitely enjoy working up a sweat with you. Play tag in the back yard or have fun running around the park chasing each other, even just 15 minutes of active playtime with them will make a huge difference in their behavior. There are also some fun activities you can do with your child indoors such as the one we mention here.
- Have them help out with chores. Even small children can help out with chores with some guidance. It may be easier to just do them yourself at first but this is a great way to help them build character and focus their energy in a productive activity. Young children may be able to help dry the plastic plates while you wash them or pick up toys around the house and other items, older children can sweep and help dust lower surfaces. This not only helps them exert energy in a positive way but also allows them to learn essential life skills.
Fun and Educational Children´s Fitness Program
Another great way to help your child enjoy themselves and while learning is to enroll them in a children´s exercise program such as the one we provide at
Stretch and Grow Winston. Our activities are both fun and constructive and teach them to make better healthier choices.
