Help Your Child Stay Safer by Teaching Them to Follow Your Advice and Instructions

Kids don't always mean to stray away from your side, they are naturally curious and are bound to want to wander off at times. However, this can be a dangerous thing. All it takes is a few seconds of distraction to lose sight of your little one. That is why it is so important that you teach your child the rules of sticking to your side at all times when you leave the house. The following tips and advice can help your child stay safer the next time you go out.

Talk to Your Child and Teach Them Safety Rules

Make sure your child knows where they are going and the proper way to behave there. Kids that wander off or don´t stay put when they are in public are rarely trying to be naughty they are just in a different environment and are unsure of the proper way to act. That is why it is important that you talk to your child ahead of time, preferably while still home. Tell them where you will be going and what you expect of them. Keep it simple and make three or four rules they need to stick by all the time when outside the home. Three good rules for any situation are: ¨always stay next to mom, listen and obey the first time, and stay alerted to any suspicious adults and tell mom right away.¨ Of course, only you know your child best and you can explain or word the rules you want them to follow, in a way they will understand.

Help Your Child Learn to Follow Rules and Instructions in a Fun Way Through Children's Exercise Classes

The idea is to make your child aware that they need to stay close to you in public areas where it is easy for them to get lost. Following directions and learning to obey instructions is important for this but not exactly easy for young children to do. There are many things you can do to help them do better in this area. Not only does it help to talk to them about this and other situations but getting them used to following instructions in other situations can be incredibly beneficial for this and other behavior issues. Fitness and exercise programs that teach them rules and to follow instructions are great for their health but are also a good way to help them improve their listening skills, discipline, and their ability to follow directions.
